About the Trainers
Mr David Chiesa is the Senior Director of Global Business Development for S&C Electric Company. This position is focused on expanding the reach of S&C’s products and services within the market segments of data centers and microgrids. Mr Chiesa began his career in the US Army, serving as a Maintenance Company Commander, General Officer aide-de-camp, and US Forces Maintenance Manager for the NATO Troops conducting peacekeeping operations in Bosnia. He also worked for General Electric as the operational lead for power equipment products, building substations across the US. Throughout his time in GE, Mr Chiesa was the Service Manager for the Chicagoland district with GE Industrial Services, as well as the North Region Service Director.
Mr Chiesa is a well-known industry leader in microgrid deployment and has been featured in several industry magazine articles in recent years. He has a B.S. Degree in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy and an MBA from the University of Maryland - European Division.
Mr Ernst Camm is the Senior Manager of Consulting and Analytical Services - Asia Pacific. With more than thirty years of experience in the power industry, Mr Camm is responsible for providing technical support to customers and S&C’s product and services business units on distribution automation/grid modernization, distribution system analysis, renewable power plant integration, dynamic reactive power compensators, energy storage systems, and design of microgrids.
His experience includes distribution system protective device application and analysis, reliability improvement, optimal capacitor placement, voltage management, distribution system PV hosting capability studies, harmonics, and capacitor-switching transients. He has performed many types of power system feasibility and engineering studies, including power flow and dynamic stability, transient, and power quality analyses, as well as renewable power plant modeling, interconnection studies, and studies associated with microgrids.
Mr Camm is a Senior Member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and holds a US Patent on an innovative solution applied in microgrid projects.
